If this freakish rain spell ends, check out the New York City Opera's performance of The Magic Flute this Friday, June 25th at Rockefeller Park, 61 Broadway, Battery Park City. What if Friday gets rained out or I just can't make it? Then head to the World Financial Center Winter Garden, 220 Vesey Street for a a concert performance of La Navarraise, a rarely performed Massenet opera. It's described as a turbulent love story that unfolds against the backdrop of civil war in Spain. Both performances are part of the River to River Festival sponsored by American Express.
If you don't get your Opera fill on Friday or Saturday, you get one more shot at South Street Seaport on Sunday. The New York City Opera brings a concert program of beloved arias, duets and overtures that have become part of American popular culture. Music will include highlights from masterpieces by favorites such as Puccini, Verdi, Ravel, and Rossini.
