Another CUNY Month event for your to take partake in. On Saturday, November 14th performance poet Mo Beasley will be at Medgar Evers College (1650 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn) at 5pm.
The award-winning Beasley will perform "You a Man Now?," which is described as a "spoken word-theatre experience putting a new spin on the urban male coming of age story." Set in the late 1980s, the tale attempts to demystify the strong black single mother, who is often deified in the black community, and the street hustlers who are demonized and glorified for all the wrong reasons. The event will be followed by a community round-table discussing the challenges of and providing possible insights for single mothers.
