I fell in love with Gelato at the age of 16 during a birthday trip to Italy. I describe gelato as ice cream's more sophisticated sibling. Creamier and bolder in taste, it also has less fat and less sugar than traditional ice cream. In short, it's awesome.

My favorite gelato shop in NYC is L'Arte del Gelato and from April 23rd to 25th they will be hosting a Festa del Cioccolato. The chocolate festival will feature 11 flavors made will Valrhona Chocolate.

On Friday April 23rd you can purchase your gelato for just $2
and all the proceeds will benefit
the Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
