Summer Restaurant week starts July 12th and reservations at the top spots are going fast if not gone already. It's not too late! I've got two reservations last night.
I will make revisit to Morimoto for lunch; I have fond memories of the Kobe Beef Bento Box I ate there a few years ago and have been itching to go back. The second res is for Le Cirque. I used to eat leftovers from the original Le Cirque while I was a kid because my dad worked at the hotel where it was located, but I've never actually been a patron. There Restaurant Week dinner menu looks fantastic so I'm hoping it doesn't disappoint. Will it be the Pistachio Crusted Lamb Filet or the Sauteed Beef Medallions? Decisions Decisions.
Most of the restaurants accept reservations online using Opentable.com. You can view a full list of restaurants at nycgo.com and there are menu links for some of the restaurants. Past restaurant week experiences I've loved included Craftbar, Nougatine at Jean Georges, and Mesa Grill. Buen Provecho!

Scanned the list and nothing really strikes me as casual except Carnegie Deli, but no outside seating there. The Central Park Boathouse has loads of outdoor seating, and I've had solid food there. Tabla has a decent outdoor section right across the street from Madison Square Park. Blue Water Grill (which is fantastic) also has nice outdoor space with a view of Union Square. For Table and Blue Water Grill I would suggesting calling in your reservation to see if they'll specifically hold an outdoor table for you.
