About Maribel

New York has been the backdrop of my upbringing.  The most poignant moments of my life (thus far) have transpired here. We are eternally connected.  This blog started as a means for me to share my knowledge about events, venues, products and deals. While I will continue to share that type of  information, this space is evolving to incorporate more about my memories, my life in New York, my travel adventures, and musings on the world around me.

What you should know about me:

I was a daughter to two amazing parents whose lives where taken too early by cancer
I am a sister, blessed to have someone with whom to share childhood memories.
I am an aunt, proud of what the next generation has already and will continue to accomplish.
I am a fortunate friend, surrounded by love and understanding.
I am loved.

About Ethan

There are a few things I am passionate about.  Travel – I think it’s important to see the world and experience new things.  I just saw a great sign at an airport that warrants sharing:  “sometimes you go somewhere to find something.  Sometimes when you go somewhere you find yourself.”  Actually, I’m sure it was worded better, but you get the idea.   I think it’s good to get out of your comfort zone.  Eat a bug.  Jump out of a plane.  Take advantage of technology that can let you do awesome things like breathe underwater or go 150 MPH.

My job does not define me.  At least not now.  Maybe someday.  I work to live.  I do not live to work, or think anyone else should.

I am also self aware enough now to know that merely being able to say any of things is only possible because of how privileged I am.  I’m certainly not rich by Upper West Side standards, but I’ve seen enough of earth to know that I have much to be grateful for.  Chances are, dear reader, that you do too.

Food.  Let the idioms begin. The way to my heart is through my stomach.  I often want to hug the makers of delicious food.  Ya gotta eat…multiple times every single day.  Keep it interesting!  Variety is the spice of life.  I actually have a hard time relating to anyone over the age of 7 that will turn their nose up at something without ever trying it.  Ya never know until you try it.  Enough idioms.

I also never feel as if I am doing enough of any of these things.  I think it’s a guy thing.  I really hate musicals, but I saw Pippen against my will.  If nothing else it let me know I wasn’t alone.
I certainly have things to work on as a human being, and I hope that the experiences I have will help to give me a sense of fulfillment and put a smile on my face, and with any luck someone else’s as well.
